Psychedelic/Drug Book-Film Adaptations

I'm making a movie list to rent out for movie nights and I need a little help.
Here are some examples: (already seen them)

A Clockwork Orange

Trainspotting

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Alice in Wonderland (The Disney version)

Requiem for a Dream

Got anymore suggestions?
There are a lot of movie lists on google for psychedelic films but they aren't necessarily based on a book(s) which are the kind I'm looking for.
Even if they're not exactly about drugs, as long as they have a certain psychedelic aura about them, fire away and I'll check them out.

2 rules:
The movie has to be adapted from a book.
The book has to do with drugs or was made to buzz you the f**k out.

Thanks!

P.S- Say no to drugs! Read a book or watch movies instead :D

The Velveteen Rabbit

By Margery Williams

"What is REAL?" asked the Rabbit one day, when they were lying side by side near the nursery fender, before Nana came to tidy the room. "Does it mean having things that buzz inside you and a stick-out handle?"

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but Really loves you, then you become Real."

"Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit.

"Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt."

"Does it happen all at once, like being wound up,"
he asked, "or bit by bit?"

"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get all loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

Hummus.

It's cold.
My hand is frozen and aching.

I got a nose piercing recently and I've had quite a bit of trouble with it too.
It came out a couple of times and I was able to get it back in by myself but there was this one time where I couldn't get it back in and I had to use a safety pin to keep the hole open.

Thankfully Tash came to the rescue. (My hero!)
I'm so grateful.
We spent the last couple of days together, just hanging out and trying to do work.
We drove all the way out to the shore to her grandma's house to work in her studio.

It was a beautiful place.

While I was there, I did this painting for Jess.

Today we had cheap brunch sitting down on the pavement at the town center.
I love how we scooped up hummus with bread.
It reminds me of family takeaway nights in the Emirates.

It's the last day of our second semester tomorrow.
I still need to hand in my essay.
There are so many things I need to do; want to do.

This is my photo studies final piece.

It really sucks that I didn't get enough time to do it coz I think it could've been better.

We came up with an idea for a comic.
It's going to be a comic about the S.U.C.K.

Saving up is hard right now, it used to be so easy.

I need a job.
What is the perfect part-time job for me?

I'm scared that I'm scaring people.

Oh Hedi Slimane... Please drown me in your clothing!

Moleskine update

more drawings from my moleskine.

Tash was lying down on her bed staring out into space; she also kept falling asleep and moving, so yeah, i think she's much prettier in person and I didn't do her justice.

I call it guns and rape.

I did this when Jerem-dog was passed out drunk on the couch, the morning after we had 'study group'; he refused to wake up!!

This is Ira, high as a kite.

This is Hugo, passing out at the party and trying to recover. He flopped himself in the hallway, we used a sleeping bag as a blanket to cover him and me & Vee kept him company. After a while the whole party joined us in the hallway.

This is Jasper taking the place of Hugo's 'passing out' area in the hallway after he'd finally recovered. He was smiling to himself.

Harry is Frankenstein!

Trying to draw Paris but fail. Damn absinthe!

headless female thing. again.

Did this when Jess was talking to me.

This is Julia at the party. I think my drawing style has changed ever since I did that painting on the wall, so I felt a little uncomfortable doing this, like my hand wasn't my own. Still, she is really pretty and I quite like how there is a lot of space here.

This is Jimmy Neutron, he was drunk.

This is a better drawing of Paris I did during workshop week. She kept moving and spazzing out but I really liked her suggestion of including the tattoo on her wrist.

This is Noor giggling while we were hanging outside Renkon.

this was supposed to be james but looks nothing like him... so its probably not.

not sure. i think it's a teardrop falling upwards.

I forgot her name but it was a drawing of a girl at a party she had cool dreadlocks.

This is a tree-log-horse-dog. An animal-thingy that Paris came up with one time.

This was done during my stay in Wellington at her house party.

This is Sean, he was really patient and he did not move AT ALL when i was drawing him but I was a bittle dip lipsy, but anyway, I think this drawing is the most accurate representation of anyone i drew so far.

the sounds of subtle conversations over loud music

unfinished expressive piece, listening to conversations between people against blasting music.

Also very interesting artist I came across called Jan Vormann.
